Anti-Inflammatory Pomegranate Juice with Candy Cane Beets. Pin Me!

If you are looking for a great way to boost your immune system and keep your histamine bucket from overflowing during the upcoming holiday season which is typically filled with a lot of sweet treats and social gatherings. Both of which can wreck havoc on your immune system and your precious histamine balance. Then this Anti-Inflammatory Pomegranate Juice recipe is perfect!!!

Anti-Inflammatory Pomegranate Juice with Candy Cane Beets

It has been a while since my last juice recipe here on the blog – which is because my beloved juicer broke a few months back! So I had to get a new one! And was thus phased with the big question: “Which juicer should I buy???” In case any of you guys are in the same boat as I was, and don’t know what to choose when buying a juicer, you might find this little review on juicers helpful! Investing in a juicer can be quite the expense! And honestly we couldn’t afford getting an expensive one at this moment 🙁 So we ended up deciding to buy a relatively cheap masticating slow juicer from “SilverCrest” – the appliance brand from Lidl. And I must admit it works wonders – better even than our old masticating slow juicer which was significantly more expensive, actually. So I’m very happy with our decision. However I still dream of one day to be able to buy a masticating juicer from Hurom 🙂

Prep the fruit and vegetable according to the specs of your juicer and get juicing. I prefer to remove all the seeds from the pomegranate before adding the seeds to the juicer in order to get as little as possible of the thick white skin in the juicer. For this juice I also peeled the cucumber, to get the optimal pink color of the juice. Peeling the cucumber is of course totally optimal. Note that there is both a sweet kind and a more sour kind of pomegranate, I really recommend using the more sour kind of pomegranate for this. And note that pomegranates both works as an antihistamine (it is a mast cell stabilizer) and an anti-inflammatory agent. So a double win and hooray for pomegranates (references are provided at the bottom of this post). You can of course also up the antihistamine and anti-inflammatory value of this juice by adding a bit of ginger 🙂
